REFLECTIONS
These pages will expand, over time, to include many things that may be of interest to you.  You are invited to share something you feel may be useful to others.
For now, I am including some poems.  Writing has been a way for me to see, deep inside, what is bothering me and also to share those feelings with others.  Some were written when I was a teenager, others as a police officer.  Some people feel that police officers are unaffected by their experiences.  I have also included a whole section of poems that were inspired by my police experiences. My favourites are the poems  about friendship.  I have also included one poem that speaks about the impact of having a father who was addicted to alcohol.  It is amazing how, after writing a poem, the pain that was festering deep beneath the surface was released – like pulling a sliver from an infected finger.  I was always surprised by how something so seemingly insignificant, in the big picture of life, could cause so much pain.
