What Is Presented
Current, factual information on specific drugs, including alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, ecstasy, prescription and over the counter medications, cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, date rape drugs, performance enhancing drugs and more. Issues surrounding substance abuse and more.
A fast paced PowerPoint presentation provides age/stage appropriate drug information. The dialogue is open and non-judgmental, allowing the audience to question and seek answers regarding substance abuse and its impact on the brain and body of the user as well as social and legal implications. Alternatives to drug use are discussed as well as what to do if a friend or family member is affected by substance abuse. Specific drugs that are used in the community are discussed as well as any other drugs students seek information on. Individual classroom presentations allow for more interaction with the students, however, mini assemblies can be accommodated, depending on the scheduling requirements of the school. Presentation length 60-90 minutes, depending on scheduling requirements of the school.
